jobs.ch ag reports record year 2011 and the creation of 25 jobs

The leading online recruiting company on the Swiss job market can look back on the most successful year in its more than ten-year history. In 2011, jobs.ch ag reported a 54 percent rise in customer orders against the previous year, to CHF 55.6 million. The number of visits to the website increased by 29.2 million (1) in 2011, a rise of about 23 percent against the previous year. About 10 percent of the visits already come from mobile job searches via smartphones. In 2011 jobs.ch again managed to significantly expand its position as Switzerland’s leading online job market.

In 2011 jobs.ch posted record figures in all indicators relevant for industry comparison: incoming orders, number of visitors, reach. This also applies to the number of advertised positions, which increased by about 27 percent compared to the previous year. In the last financial year the company created 25 new jobs and increased its number of employees in Zurich and Lausanne to about 100.

jobs.ch ag is planning further investments and services for mobile job search
The company has not only recognised social media as an opportunity – it is also on the road to success in the “mobile apps” area. About 10 percent of the traffic on www.jobs.ch comes from mobile internet use, specifically from smartphones. iOS devices, such as iPhones, iPads or iPods, form the largest share. For 2011 alone, jobs.ch reports 43,000 downloads of its iPhone app and 4.2 million search requests for job offers using the iPhone app. “It’s clear that the mobile job search is satisfying a strong demand, and we are expecting further vigorous growth. That’s why we at jobs.ch are focusing keenly on offering the best possible job search experience via smartphone,” explained Mark Sandmeier, CEO of jobs.ch ag. A completely renewed version of the iPhone app became available in early February 2012. New apps for iPads and android devices plus a web app for all other smartphones will follow in the course of this year.

jobs.ch expands its market lead through strategic and innovative cooperation
The company again systematically pursued its expansion strategy in 2011. As a result, jobs.ch took over the platform www.topjobs.ch from Switzerland’s largest online classified ad market, Scout24 Schweiz AG. With this step the company was able to position itself as the market leader in the Swiss online executive market. Scout24 Schweiz AG, operator of the platform www.jobscout24.ch, handed over its contract customer business to jobs.ch ag. Since then, jobs.ch ag has been marketing the job portals www.topjobs.ch, www.jobs.ch, www.jobscout24.ch and five vertical, industry-specific job markets, immensely increasing the number of jobseekers who can be reached by a single job advertisement.

Together with XING, the leading business network in the German-speaking countries, jobs.ch ag launched www.topjobs.ch in April 2011. As a Swiss premiere, www.topjobs.ch links the advantages of an online job market with those of a social business network. The job advertisements simultaneously appear on www.topjobs.ch, on www.jobs.ch and on www.xing.com. This new recruiting channel greatly increases the reach of the jobs advertised for professionals and executives.

“For us, 2011 was clearly characterised by strategic expansion and an extension of our offers for business customers and jobseekers. By taking over Topjobs and through close cooperation with Scout24, we managed once again to significantly improve the services for business customers. We were able to continue expanding our position as market leader, and we came another step closer to satisfying jobseekers’ needs through our offers in the social media and mobile internet areas,” says Mark Sandmeier. “I’m particularly pleased that we have hired 25 new employees. Our experienced team, which now totals about 100 motivated colleagues, is certainly the basis of our success.”

Prospects for 2012
jobs.ch got off to a good start in 2012. “The first two months went very well; the market is stable. We are sensing that the Swiss job market is persistently becoming more attractive,” says Mark Sandmeier. Against the backdrop of shortages in specialist and managerial staff, the international job market is also increasing in significance in Switzerland: more and more companies have to look for specialists abroad. jobs.ch is well aware of this situation and will remain committed to sensitising companies in Switzerland to the international and efficient recruitment of specialist and managerial staff.

jobs.ch publishes the world’s biggest study on the global job market and asks employees in Zurich and Lausanne what it’s like to work in Switzerland.

In 2011 jobs.ch, Switzerland’s leading online recruitment firm, conducted the third Global Talent Mobility Study together with its partners from The Network. The results show that Switzerland remains extremely popular in the global job market. This is very good news as, without international recruitment, Switzerland could be short of more than 400,000 skilled workers in 20 years’ time.

Around 500,000 new jobs were created in Switzerland between 2000 and 2010 (1). As a consequence various sectors are already struggling with a shortage of skilled workers, a trend that is likely to accelerate in the coming years. Companies now see themselves increasingly obliged to look abroad for their skilled workforce. But how attractive is the Swiss job market when compared internationally?

Switzerland still popular internationally
Switzerland is playing an increasingly significant role on the international job market. 33.3 percent of people asked around the world said they would (2) like to work in Switzerland. As a result of the economic crisis, Switzerland is now a top destination for European employees, moving further up the table in 2011 to take second place behind the United States.

It is interesting to note that the willingness to work abroad has increased considerably in recent years. The share for those nine European countries that took part in the first study in 2006 has increased by 10 percent in just five years. It is likely that this is a direct result of the economic crisis: the deterioration of prospects in the home job market means more jobseekers are willing to look for work abroad.

Street interviews about mobility in Zurich and Lausanne

Recent street interviews conducted by jobs.ch in Zurich and Lausanne confirm that Switzerland is a popular place to work. The country was given a positive rating by both Swiss and foreign employees. Loredana Marchino Möller, a physiotherapist from Italy, feels very much at home in Switzerland. She said: “My soul is still in Italy but Switzerland is a good country and I can offer high quality work here – much more so than in Italy. My family and I love the fact that in Switzerland we can meet people from so many different countries.”

René Nussbaumer, a Swiss national and former director of education, sees Switzerland’s multi-cultural diversity as a commitment to openness and globalisation. He said: “It’s all part of it that, on the one hand, people from other countries come and work here and, on the other hand, that we seize opportunities to go abroad to work.”

Click here to see the street interviews in full: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pSL829smj0&context=C350646cADOEgsToPDskJ6Izvre1k31ZSv8YJT4SMj

Study produces key insights
The results of the study could prove fundamental for international recruitment of highly qualified workers in the future. Mark Sandmeier, managing director of jobs.ch, said: “In an increasingly globalised job market, such knowledge is necessary in order to address the right workers at the international level. The Global Talent Mobility Study enables HR managers and recruitment professionals to see correlations in the international job market.”

This is important as Switzerland could be short 411,000 employees by 2030 because of its ageing society. International recruitment therefore is a must. This conclusion was drawn in a study by the Travailsuisse trade union federation. In other words, it is high time that companies start recruiting from beyond Switzerland’s national borders.

The Global Talent Mobility Study was a survey of the issue of professional mobility conducted worldwide by jobs.ch in conjunction with “The Network” and the market research company “The Intelligence Group”. The survey was carried out for the third time this year after the previous 2 surveys in 2006 and 2009. While 21,000 people took part in the first survey in 2006, between June and September 2011 over 166,000 people from 66 countries completed the questionnaire – in Switzerland over 4,000 people took part in the survey on jobs.ch.

The Swiss labour force is highly mobile

Switzerland is an attractive labour market – yet even so, two-thirds of all Swiss workers would like to work abroad. The favourite destinations are the USA, Australia and Canada. Many would even be prepared to work abroad for more than five years. But Switzerland itself is also an attractive place to work: workers from our neighbouring countries in particular as well as Americans, British and Swedes would be interested in working in Switzerland.

How many people want to move abroad for work? What are the favourite destinations on the international labour market? Why are more and more people interested in working abroad? In their Global Talent Mobility Study jobs.ch and “The Network”, a global alliance of leading online jobsites, investigated these and other questions surrounding mobility on the labour market.

Working abroad is catching on
The results of this study, which is unique globally, are astonishing: as many as 37 percent of Swiss workers questioned would be prepared to move abroad for work reasons right away; 29 percent would at least consider working abroad, and 42 percent would be prepared to stay abroad for over 5 years. The main motive for moving to a foreign country, cited by 60 percent of respondents, is to expand professional horizons and gain new experience. The attraction of taking on a new challenge (43 percent) and learning about other countries and cultures (42 percent) were also important motives, and 56 percent said they would be prepared to move for their jobs within Switzerland.

If Swiss workers move abroad, they attach great importance to doing so on a stable footing: a large majority – 80 percent – would want to have a permanent contract if they worked abroad. Companies, too, can benefit from employees’ wanderlust: if they offer their staff the chance of working abroad, they can increase their appeal significantly. It is therefore no coincidence that many of the internationally active Swiss companies from the pharmaceutical and banking industries are among the most popular employers in Switzerland.

Swiss workers have clear favourites in terms of their destinations. The frontrunners are the United States (50 percent), followed by Australia (43 percent) and Canada (38 percent). The cities are led by New York (21 percent), ahead of London (17 percent) and Sydney (12 percent). Many of the favourite destinations are therefore traditional magnets for emigrants. Moreover, the English-speaking countries are also likely to be a popular destination for working abroad because of the comparatively low language barriers.

Jobs in Switzerland are also very popular
The figure for workers from abroad who would consider working in Switzerland is even higher than for the reverse question at 81 percent. Germans, French, Italians and Austrians in particular, but also Americans, British and Swedes would all like to work in Switzerland. Like the Swiss, they too are mostly looking for a permanent contract (76 percent), and seeking to expand their professional horizons. Staff from the areas “Sales”, “IT/ICT/Automation” and “Engineering & Technology” are particularly keen to come to Switzerland, an indication of the fact that Switzerland remains an attractive labour market for both information technology and the manufacture of high-quality engineering components.

Among the respondents who would like to work in Switzerland, the English-speaking countries are also very popular and are therefore in direct competition with the Swiss labour market. The favourite destinations are the UK (63 percent), the United States (61 percent) and Canada (54 percent).

Vigorous competition on the international jobs market
The high mobility on the international jobs market also has repercussions for workers in Switzerland, as Micol Rezzonico, who is responsible for communications at jobs.ch, explains: “Due to the attractiveness of its labour market Switzerland continues to draw in a large number of highly qualified workers. Swiss workers therefore have to keep training and upskilling continuously in order to remain competitive in an international comparison.” The results of the study show that companies, too, have to actively address the issue of international recruitment if they want to bypass the shortage of qualified staff in Switzerland and fill their vacancies with the best candidates.

In this context the importance of online job portals cannot be overstated. Out of all Swiss workers who took part in the survey, 50 percent already use online job portals when looking for a job. Among people living abroad who want to find a job in Switzerland, this figure is as high as 86 percent and is therefore the most important method by far of finding a job internationally. Its close links with “The Network” and its market-leading position, enable jobs.ch to make good use of this trend. The insights from the Global Talent Mobility Study confirm these expectations. The results of the study are also accessible online in the Global Talent Barometer at http://www.globaltalentbarometer.com/jobs-ch.

jobs.ch and XING combine online job market services with social business networking in Switzerland

jobs.ch, Switzerland’s leading online job market, relaunches www.topjobs.ch, the country’s largest executive jobs portal, in cooperation with XING. www.topjobs.ch is launched in a fresh, new look featuring optimised usability and innovative functions unique anywhere in Switzerland. The Swiss premiere of www.topjobs.ch combines the functionalities of an online job market with those of a social business network. Jobseekers are able to trace their personal XING contact details at potential employers. The new type of search technology also matches candidate profiles and vacancies and prioritises adverts that match jobseekers’ specific search preferences.

Establishing contact with XING users as well
The strategic collaboration between jobs.ch and XING is facilitating the most exciting new feature offered by www.topjobs.ch: the link between potential employers appearing in the results list and jobseekers’ individual XING contacts. Jobseekers can see which of their XING contacts are involved amongst the companies matching their profiles. This means jobseekers are able to get in direct touch with individuals within their circle of personal and professional contacts – those already working for the companies suggested – and gain background information on the company in question. Michel Kaufmann, Head of Marketing and Products at jobs.ch ag: “www.topjobs.ch is the first platform in Switzerland to provide this link-up.”

New kind of search technology for improved result quality
The new kind of search technology deployed by www.topjobs.ch leads to better results. www.topjobs.ch tracks jobseekers’ search behaviour and prioritises the job ads that best match their specific preferences. www.topjobs.ch matches a brief profile posted by jobseekers giving details of their current post, current employer or branch of industry and current location with the most relevant job profiles and potential employers of the registered job ads. The type and number of job ads passed on depend on the profiles posted by the candidates and the vacancies they have clicked on so far. The results are continuously fine-tuned to the search preferences and can be optimised manually by the jobseekers.

The search results on www.topjobs.ch also lead to recruiters matching the job profile: these are generated from amongst the 300-plus contacts of Switzerland’s largest headhunting and staff consultancy list – jobseekers are then able to enter into direct contact via a contact form.

Attractive combined opportunity for employers
This new recruitment channel significantly increases the reach of advertised vacancies for specialist staff and executives, since the ads appear automatically not only on the leading online executive market www.topjobs.ch, but also on www.jobs.ch, Switzerland’s largest online jobs market – based on hits and numbers of jobs advertised – and www.xing.com. The tie-up means that jobs.ch is now offering its clients two recruitment channels simultaneously, and is thus reaching active as well as latently interested jobseekers. The tie-up also sees XING acquiring further appeal in the Swiss market through the posting of a larger number of job ads with relevance to Switzerland.

Mark Sandmeier, CEO of jobs.ch ag: “jobs.ch has ten years of success under its belt. We see social media as representing a huge opportunity. Our cooperation with XING and our joint offer are exactly what jobseekers have been looking for in terms of turning to their social networks when seeking a fresh professional challenge. In addition, employers are given direct access to a large pool of interested candidates.”

jobs.ch is taking over www.topjobs.ch and improving its position as market leader in the Swiss online job market.

The leading Swiss online job market, jobs.ch, is teaming up with the biggest online classified ad market in Switzerland, Scout24. jobs.ch is taking over the www.topjobs.ch portal. This step propels it to the Number One spot in the Swiss online market for open management positions. Scout24 will continue to operate the www.jobscout24.ch portal but is giving up its contract customer business. In exchange, Scout24 Schweiz AG is acquiring a 15 per cent stake in jobs.ch ag. For jobs.ch ag, this transaction improves its top position in the market and brings it closer to its goal of commanding a 50 per cent share of the Swiss online job market.

jobs.ch ag is taking over the domain, brand and portal of www.topjobs.ch and will continue operating the vacancies there under the existing name. April 2011 is planned as the deadline for the re-launch of the portal with a fresh market image and innovative functions. jobs.ch is also taking over the contract customer business from www.jobscout24.ch and will henceforth conduct that business for its own account. Scout24 Schweiz AG is keeping the online job market www.jobscout24.ch and will continue to concentrate on serving individual advertisers in e-commerce. In exchange, Scout24 Schweiz AG is acquiring a 15 per cent stake in jobs.ch by bringing in its own assets and purchasing equity shares. Christian Unger, CEO of Ringier AG, is being given a seat on the Board of Directors of jobs.ch.

Scout24 Schweiz AG is taking part by investing in the growth of the strategically significant online job market. It is focusing its resources on the needs of small and medium sized enterprises, offering them ideally coordinated products at attractive prices. Scout24 is expanding the scope of job openings on its job portal through its collaboration with jobs.ch and is continuing to invest in personalised, user-friendly services for job seekers and advertisers on www.jobscout24.ch.

Daniel Grossen, founder and CEO of Scout24 Schweiz AG: “This collaboration with jobs.ch improves the overall position of Scout24 in the Swiss classified ad market. We will work closely with jobs.ch so the current job offerings on jobscout24.ch will become even more attractive.”

jobs.ch ag is further improving its top market position by marketing the job portals www.jobs.ch, www.jobscout24.ch and www.stellen.ch and the dedicated vertical job markets and management portals www.topjobs.ch it runs. Its reach has increased by about 30 per cent. The company is therefore one step closer to its goal of commanding a 50 per cent share of the Swiss online job market.

With the integral takeover of www.topjobs.ch, jobs.ch ag is also the definite leader in the online market for job openings in management. It is likewise sharpening its focus on dedicated segments of the job market. The manager market supplements the special portals jobs.ch is already successfully operating today in the vertical segments, such as in the finance and banking segment (www.jobs4finance.ch) and in healthcare (www.medtalents.ch).

The functions introduced during the re-launch of www.topjobs.ch combine for the first time the advantages of a job portal with those of the XING business network. www.topjobs.ch will provide skilled workers and managers with completely new social media functions for job searches. For the first time, corporate customers will efficiently reach active and potential job-seekers at one fell swoop.

Mark Sandmeier, CEO of jobs.ch: “This collaboration with Scout24 is an important step in the development of our company. The takeover of www.topjobs.ch and contract customer business is strengthening our position as leader in the online job market in terms of market share and revenues. We are taking big steps forward especially in the management market. The online job market continues to be a growth market and have great potential. We are ideally poised to benefit from this trend and to provide our customers with an even more complete range of services and products optimally tailored to their needs.”

About jobs.ch

jobs.ch ends anniversary year on a record high

Leading Swiss online jobs portal jobs.ch posted an order volume of CHF 36 million in its anniversary year of 2010. This represents a year-on-year increase of over 34 percent. The website recorded 23.8 million visits in 2010 – up 12 percent compared to the previous year. Around 52 percent more new jobs were advertised on www.jobs.ch in 2010 than in 2009. Successful investments made in previous years – in the specialised vertical job platforms Jobs4Sales.ch, medTalents.ch and INGJobs.ch with their average 40 percent growth in visits, and in innovative services such as semantic search – were given further impetus in 2010.

2010 marked the Swiss online job market leader’s anniversary – at the same time it was its most successful year ever for traffic, orders received and new jobs advertised. In 10 years, jobs.ch has made this platform the top address and best known website in Switzerland for job searches. In 2010, jobs.ch recorded 23.8 million visits, 12 percent more than in 2009. The order volume increased by over 34 percent to CHF 36 million year-on-year – and with a rise of 52 percent in new job advertisements over 2009, jobs.ch is the most consistently successful online jobs platform in the Swiss market. 2010 saw the company create 18 new positions; it currently has 73 staff on the payroll. The company intends to make further investments in 2011 to drive expansion and create more jobs.

New areas of business, new specialisations, new services
The vertical sector portals launched in 2009, Jobs4Sales.ch, medTalents.ch and INGJobs.ch, recorded a growth in visits averaging almost 40 percent in 2010. “This is clear proof that we were on the right track from the outset,” says jobs.ch ag CEO Mark Sandmeier. “In 2010 we took the next step and expanded our offer in vertical growth markets with ictcareer.ch and Jobs4Finance.ch. Both of these platforms have shown clear upward trends in visits since their launch in mid-2010.”

The future lies in mobile internet access, for which jobs.ch is well set up: the iPhone app it launched in October 2010 had already recorded more than 42,000 downloads by the end of the year. Overall, more than 100,000 job advertisements were viewed on the iPhone and 2,600 new memberships and job search subscriptions were generated via the app alone. Since the end of December 2010 the app has been available for the iPad as well.

jobs.ch ag is also striking new and innovative paths in the area of social media: in autumn 2010 the company entered into an exclusive partnership with XING, the leading business network, to market all XING recruitment products in Switzerland. This cooperation sees jobs.ch consolidate the breadth and appeal of its service offer.

The investment made in 2009 in the Austrian job portal karriere.at is proving highly rewarding: karriere.at doubled its turnover in 2010 and, according to Google Trends, was leading the competition for numbers of visits.

“In its first 10 years jobs.ch has come a long way. Since 2007 alone we have doubled the number of visits on our website – and we still have a lot of plans in the pipeline,” says jobs.ch ag CEO Mark Sandmeier. “We have proved that we know what our customers need – for example through the creation of vertical platforms – and are thereby able to develop new revenue streams on an ongoing basis. jobs.ch is Switzerland’s best-known online jobs portal. With our focus on technology and our experienced management team, we are optimally set up to benefit from the upturn in the market.”

About jobs.ch
jobs.ch is Switzerland’s leading online portal for job seekers and employers across all sectors, and as such has a market share of more than 40 percent. jobs.ch has 3000 regular advertisers and receives 70,000 hits every day. The company was founded in 2000 and currently employs more than 70 staff in Zurich and Lausanne. In 2010 it posted an order volume of CHF 36 million.

The biggest online job platform in Switzerland initiated mobile access a month ago and has been highly successful with it. The iPhone app from jobs.ch has already been downloaded over 30,000 times. It gives jobseekers convenient access to more than 30,000 vacant positions from anywhere at any time.

Among jobseekers, the new iPhone App from jobs.ch is the most popular app in Switzerland. During the four-week pilot phase, it was downloaded more than 30,000 times and was in the Top 25 of free apps in Switzerland. In that same period, over 1,200 new members used the app to register directly with jobs.ch. That is nearly 12% of all newly registered members. During the pilot phase, more than 250,000 searches were carried out using the iPhone app and 42,000 job ads were viewed. The most frequent keywords in the searches were “logistics”, “lawyer” and “administrator”.

Smartphones surpass PCs

Members of the “Generation Now” are highly mobile and always online. With a mobile phone, they have access to the internet, their gateway to news, entertainment and the world of work. The Mobile Internet Report from Morgan Stanley* predicts that by 2014 more users will access the internet from mobile phones than from stationary PCs. “Jobseekers obviously want to access our platform on the go and independently of an office PC. Staying close and responsive to customers is a top priority for us. That is why we have adapted our offer to fit this need. With this app, we can also reach passive jobseekers,” Mark Sandmeier, CEO of jobs.ch, noted.

The free iPhone app from jobs.ch painstakingly searches the most extensive collection of published job vacancies in Switzerland. It is all fast, simple and well laid-out. With the app, users have full access to the jobs advertised at the jobs.ch portal. They can save and manage searches and filter the results based on keywords and regions, position, type of employment and sector. Using the app, jobseekers receive new job notifications every day. They can view original versions of interesting ads and save them in lists. One highly convenient feature allows users to register with jobs.ch directly in the app without accessing the portal from a desktop PC. Users create a profile they can then use to log into the desktop version. New members receive job notifications via the app and as e-mails.

Mark Sandmeier: “Our initial experiences with the new app have been extremely encouraging and have prompted us to expand and further develop innovative services of this kind.” Following this app for the iPhone, the most popular smartphone in Switzerland, the company plans to release apps at a later point in time for iPads, Blackberries, and the Android operating system.

Largest Swiss job platform now cooperating with leading business network

jobs.ch ag is taking over the marketing of all recruitment products on XING in Switzerland. Consequently www.jobs.ch will be the sole Swiss online jobs portal working hand in hand with XING, one of the most important channels for the recruitment of executives and experts in the field of Web 2.0. Through this partnership, jobs.ch ag will make its service range more attractive while consolidating its position as leader on the Swiss market.

jobs.ch and XING have turned the Swiss online jobs market upside down: with immediate effect, jobs.ch will now market all XING job advertisements in Switzerland. In addition to posting job advertisements, this also involves marketing recruiter memberships at www.xing.com. For the first time, by placing their job advertisements on jobs.ch and xing.com, Swiss customers now have the opportunity to access two top-quality channels from a single source.

As Mark Sandmeier, CEO of jobs.ch explains: “Our own experience is confirmed by the latest trend report* examining online recruiting in Switzerland: recruiting via social media is currently generating considerable interest among human resources managers. We are therefore looking forward to our future collaboration with the leading online business network in the German-speaking world. We are already collaborating on further specific projects which will be launched in the coming months and will be unique in Switzerland.”

The cooperation therefore unites the growth sectors of social media and the online jobs market on the Swiss market. This means that XING will become even more attractive for its members thanks to the increased number of jobs posted in Switzerland. “The cooperation with jobs.ch increases our visibility on the Swiss market and makes us even more interesting to men and women throughout Switzerland. Via jobs.ch, employers’ job advertisements on XING also reach latent job seekers – members who are not actively job hunting but who are always eager for a new challenge,” explains Stefan Schmidt-Grell, Director of Product Marketing at XING AG.

More and more job seekers in Switzerland are going online to look for a job. jobs.ch, the market leader in Switzerland’s online job market, recorded more than 21 million hits in 2009, up 40 per cent on the previous year. It also recorded an annual turnover of CHF 26.8 million with its online job ads. The Swiss company with 55 employees greatly expanded its range of services for job seekers and companies in 2009 and now also holds a 49 per cent stake in the Austrian job portal Karriere.at.

2009 saw a dramatic 50 per cent drop in the number of job ads in the print media (VSW, jobpilot index), yet jobs.ch held its ground, with a decline of only 15 per cent year on year. In fact jobs.ch’s orders in the French-speaking part of Switzerland rose 22 per cent. Since 2004 visitor numbers at Switzerland’s market leader have almost tripled (7.6 million). And in October the number of job seekers who visited the online platform topped the two million mark for the first time. So jobs.ch now has twice as many visitors as jobwinner.ch, the No. 2 in the market, owned by Tamedia (NetMetrix, WEMF). «We have faced up to what is a difficult market by making sizable investments,» says jobs.ch CEO Mark Sandmeier. «We have invested in the development of specialised industry portals, in an innovative product concept and in a large-scale advertising campaign. And we intend to pursue our aggressive approach throughout our anniversary year.» Indeed jobs.ch celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2010.

An anniversary year marked by investment and expansion In the autumn of 2009 jobs.ch introduced Job.DNA, an innovative brand and product concept. Job.DNA comprises new services such as a Talent Check designed to help job seekers draw up a complete picture of what they are looking for in a job and their employer of choice. The concept was publicised in a broad-based advertising campaign of TV ads in October and November and was a key factor behind the boost in visitor numbers. The next phases have already been green-lighted. At the end of 2009 jobs.ch took a 49 per cent stake in the Austrian job market Karriere.at. According to Google Trends the platform established in 2005 already reaches more job seekers in Austria than Monster.at and Stepstone.at. As jobs.ch CEO Mark Sandmeier notes: «We’re delighted to have joined forces with Karriere.at, a job market with a great market position and good momentum. It has enabled jobs.ch ag to expand its market territory to Austria while still focusing its operations on Switzerland.»
